A practical & popular conservatory style

Square and rectangular conservatories are without question the most popular and perhaps the most practical shape due to the simple 3-sided configuration which produces the maximum space whilst being the most cost effective, especially when designed in conjunction with a simple Lean-To roof. The phrase “Simple but Effective” may well sum up this shape, simple when designing the frames and base but especially effective when coupled with a Gable or an Edwardian/Georgian style roof.

The introduction of a bespoke Aluminium box-gutter can reduce the roof height on a large conservatory, this feature is also often used when the conservatory roof has a height restriction such as a low roofline on a bungalow.

Designing your conservatory is no small task, many factors need to be ascertained before you can start to plan your project.

Firstly, the simple question of how you are intending to use your conservatory should be considered, conservatories are very versatile and can be used in many ways ranging from a robust rear porch area for pets, shoes, coats and wellies to a sumptuous Lounge area that can be fully carpeted and even have curtains and sofas.

Thermaglaze have been asked to help design and construct Dining Rooms, Lounges, Playrooms, Utility Rooms, Studies, Offices, Bedrooms, the list is endless and all of these have been under the guise of a conservatory.
